With both its conference season and an emotional Senior Day complete, the Princeton women's lacrosse team can now set it sights on the kind of postseason achievements that have become commonplace for the program in recent years.
That "postseason" unofficially starts Wednesday night in the regular-season finale, when the fifth-ranked Tigers visit No. 8 Maryland in a game that is always a highlight of the Division I season.
The game will be broadcast both on the internet at GoPrincetonTigers.com and on the radio at WHWH-AM 1350 in Princeton, with Ed Benkin providing the play-by-play.
Princeton (12-3), winners of two straight games, will be playing its 13th game this season against a ranked team when it meets the No. 8 Terps (10-6), who fell to Virginia in the ACC tournament last weekend in Baltimore. The Terps are also the seventh Princeton opponent ranked in the top 10 at the time of the game.
The Tigers will be looking to continue their recent success against Maryland Wednesday night. Princeton has wins over the Terps in each of the last three seasons after losing 11 straight games against Maryland during a seven-season span from 1995-2001.
NCAA tournament selections will be announced on Sun., May 8, at approximately 9:05 p.m. on CSTV (DirecTV Channel 610). The Tigers will likely earn their eighth straight NCAA tournament appearance and the 15th NCAA appearance in program history.
