Three Princeton women's lacrosse players--2005 graduate Elizabeth Pillion and current Tigers Kathleen Miller and Katie Lewis-Lamonica--have been named to the U.S. Women's Lacrosse Developmental Team as announced by USLacrosse.
The 28-member U.S. Developmental Team will compete in exhibition games throughout the 2005-06 season and participate in a clinic as part of the 2005 World Cup in Annapolis, Md., June 25. The developmental team also serves as a feeder squad for the U.S. Elite team that competes in international competition.
Pillion was a first-team All-America selection in both 2004 and 2005 for the Tigers, while Lewis-Lamonica earned Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors in 2005 and also was an All-Mid-Atlantic selection. Miller, Princeton's second-leading scorer in 2005 with 41 points and the 2004 Ivy Rookie of the Year, was an honorable mention all-league pick this season.
The U.S. Developmental Team is coached by Sue Murphy, the head women's lacrosse coach at the University of Richmond.
Princeton was one of five schools, along with Duke, Dartmouth, James Madison and Maryland, to have more than one graduate or current player named to the U.S. Developmental Team.
