PRINCETON, N.J. - Sharla Cloutier posted a tournament-low 69 on Sunday at Springdale Golf Club and won the individual title at the Princeton Invitational as her Tiger teammates combined to win the team crown by 20 shots over Yale.
Cloutier had an ace on the 13th hole Sunday as one of four red numbers on her scorecard, three of which were on the back nine. After a four-over 76 on Saturday, her one-over 145 for the weekend was four shots fewer than the +5 turned in by teammate Marlowe Boukis and Yale's January Romero. Boukis had the lowest round of the tournament with her 72 on Saturday before Cloutier's 69 on Sunday.
Princeton had three of the four low scorers for the tournament. After Cloutier's win and Boukis' tie for second, Susannah Aboff (75-75-150) placed fourth, Annika Windon (76-81-161) tied for 25th and Alexis Etow (84-87-171) tied for 54th.
The home meet marked the halfway point of the fall season after last week's Mary Fossum Invitational at Michigan State. Princeton resumes its slate in three weeks at Penn State before finishing the fall campaign the Oct. 31-Nov. 2 at the Pat Bradley Championships in Miami, Fla.
