Tigers Fall to 69th-Ranked UCSB in Men's Tennis Season Opener, 6-1

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Princeton won the doubles point thanks to wins at Nos. 2 and 3, but UC Santa Barbara won each singles match in straight sets on the way to a 6-1 victory over the Tigers in a men's tennis match played Tuesday afternoon.
The match was the spring season opener for the Tigers (0-1), while UCSB improved to 4-1 on the spring.
The Tigers won the doubles thanks to an easy victory at No. 3 from seniors Darius Craton and Shannon Morales and a clinching 8-5 win at No. 2 from junior Ted Mabrey and freshman Alex Krueger-Wyman.
Saengsuwarn played his first career match for Princeton at No. 1 singles and gave UCSB's Nick Brotman all he could handle before falling by scores of 6-4 and 6-4. Both Christian Husby, at No. 4 singles, and Morales, at No. 6, took second sets to 7-5 scores for the Tigers.
Freshman Alex Vuckovic also saw his first career dual-match singles action, falling 6-2 and 6-2 to Anders Dalskov at No. 5.
Princeton plays at UC Irvine Wednesday.
