Men's Tennis Drops 5-2 Decision at UC Irvine

IRVINE, Calif. - Princeton got singles and doubles wins from senior Shannon Morales, but UC Irvine won three singles matches in straight sets on the way to a 5-2 win over the Tigers in a men's tennis match Wednesday afternoon at Anteater Tennis Stadium.
The Tigers (0-2) got a doubles win from Morales and Darius Craton at No. 3, but UCI (2-4) won by 8-4 scores at both No. 1 and No. 2 to take the doubles point. UCI clinched the match when Alex Sundling defeated Christian Husby at No. 5 singles by a 6-2, 6-2 score.
Sratha Saengswuarn had a big win for Princeton at No. 2 singles, defeating Mustafa Ulukan in a first-set tiebreak before taking the second set 6-3 to win the match. Morales had an easier time with Trevor Dobson at No. 6 singles, winning by scores of 6-2 and 6-4.
Andrew Lieu split sets with Andrei Radulescu at No. 3 singles before Radulescu won a 10-3 proset to take the match after the team match had been clinched.
The Tigers play at 67th-ranked Fresno State on Friday afternoon.
