Tigers Fall to Penn at ECAC Invitational, 5-2
October 01, 2006 | Men's Tennis
Peter Capkovic got a bit of revenge against Penn's Jason Pinsky Saturday at the USTA National Tennis Center, but the Quakers proved to be strong throughout the lineup on the way to a 5-2 victory over Princeton in a quarterfinal match at the ECAC Invitational.
After splitting sets with Pinsky, who had defeated him in the championship match of last week's Farnsworth Invitational, Capkovic won a 10-point tiebreak to take the match.
Princeton also got a similar win at No. 2 singles from Sratha Saengsuwarn, who lost the first set before coming back to win 10-5 in a tiebreak for the match.
The Tigers, the No. 7 seed in the tournament, will play No. 11 seed Manhattan in the 6th/8th place match on Sunday. Manhattan upset No. 6 seed Harvard earlier in the tournament.
