Princeton Defeats George Washington 17-6

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The 15th-ranked Princeton men's water polo team improved to 13-6 overall and 5-2 in CWPA play with a 17-6 win at George Washington on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Eric Vreeland scored five goals in the win.
Princeton raced out to a 5-1 lead in the opening period and was up 9-2 at the half. The Colonials outscored Princeton 4-2 in the third quarter but broke the game open with six unaswered goals in the final quarter for the 17-6 win.
Vreeland led the offense with his second five-goal game of the weekend. Freshman Mark Zalewski added four goals for the Tigers while seniors Chris Kelsch and Nicholas Seaver both scored twice. Junior Scott Syevrson and freshman Scott Hvidt each made five saves after playing a half each.
Princeton returns to action on Tuesday night when it hosts Bucknell.
