Tiger Women's Tennis Defeats Rutgers, 6-1

Darcy Robertson and Joanna Roth clinched the doubles point for Princeton at No. 2 and each won in singles to help the Princeton women's tennis team to a 6-1 victory over Rutgers in a match played at Jadwin Gym Saturday afternoon.
Robertson and Roth won by an 8-2 score at No. 2 over Dana Gordon and Anela Dujsic of Rutgers, then earned singles victories at Nos. 1 and 6 respectively. Robertson defeated Katrina Elder-Bush 6-3 and 7-5 at No. 1 singles, while Roth won the first set in a tiebreak at No. 6 over Lauren Edelschein before taking the second set 6-2.
Princeton (1-2) got a shutout win at No. 1 doubles from Ivana King and Jessica Siebel, and Siebel also earned a win at No. 2 singles. She defeated Alina Balasa impressively, 6-1 and 6-1.
Alison Hashmall won at No. 4 singles for Princeton in straight sets, losing just three games, while Christine Kansky earned a victory at No. 5, splitting sets with Jill Markowitz before winning a 10-4 proset.
Rutgers (0-1) got a win at No. 3 singles, where Gordon defeated King 6-3 and 6-4.
The Tigers host Saint John's next Saturday at Jadwin Gym.
