Leroux Named First-Team All-Ivy

PRINCETON - Three members of the Princeton men's hockey team were named to the Ivy League's all-league teams on Wednesday afternoon. Leading the group was senior netminder Eric Leroux, who was named to the league's first team. Junior Grant Goeckner-Zoeller was named to the second team, while senior Brian Carthas was an honorable mention.
Leroux becomes Princeton second first-team All-Ivy selection in as many seasons. He had a league-leading .917 save percentage and finished the season with 622 saves in Ivy action. He, and junior B.J. Sklapsky, combined to allow the least amount of goals of any team in Ivy play (26).
Leroux is the second Princeton goaltender to be named a first-team All-Ivy. The first was Ron Dennis, who won the award in 1981, a year before Leroux was born.
Goeckner-Zoeller, an honorable mention in 2004-05, was named to the league's second team. He tied for 10th in league scoring, eighth in league goals and sixth in league power-play goals.
Like Leroux, Carthas received All-Ivy honors for the first time in his career. He tied for eighth in league scoring among defensemen, and was a part of the Ivy League's best defense, as the Tigers surrendered fewer goals than any other league time.
