SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Princeton's Friday schedule at the Capital Classic hosted by Sacramento State has been altered once again. The Tigers will not face Utah State and will start the day's second game at 4:30 p.m. PT versus Minnesota. Rain on Thursday sogged the field and forced crews to scramble to ready the playing surfaces in time for any games to be played on Friday.
The Tigers will be in search of their first win over a Big Ten team since 1995, when they defeated Ohio State. In 2002, the last season in which Princeton faced a Big Ten team, Minnesota and Penn State eliminated the Tigers from head coach Maureen Barron's first NCAA Championships appearance.
The delay also sets up some simultaneous Princeton-Minnesota action between two programs. The two schools will also face off in an NCAA quarterfinal women's hockey game at 5 p.m. PT, 7 p.m. local time, in Minneapolis.
