Women's Tennis Falls at 10th-Ranked Duke, 6-1

DURHAM, N.C. - Tenth-ranked Duke, featuring four nationally-ranked singles players, defeated Princeton by a 6-1 score Wednesday afternoon in a women's tennis match played at the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center.
Princeton, playing its second nationally-ranked opponent in three matches on its Spring Break trip, lost the doubles point but did pick up a win at No. 3 doubles, where Rankin Williams and Christine Kansky won by an 8-5 score.
Kansky completed a good day on court in singles, where she defeated Jenny Zika in straight sets impressively, 6-3 and 6-3, at the No. 4 spot.
Duke clinched the match at No. 2 singles, where Melissa Mang defeated Jessica Siebel, winning the first set 6-0 before outlasting Siebel 7-5 in the second set.
At No. 1, Darcy Robertson battled throughout a tough second set with 29th-ranekd Jackie Carleton before succumbing by scores of 6-1 and 7-6. At No. 3, Ivana King also took the second set to a tiebreak, this time against 66th-ranked Tara Iyer.
The Tigers, now 5-6 on the spring, play at UNC Wilmington on Saturday afternoon.
