Women's Lightweights Sweep Pair In Home Opener

PRINCETON - The Princeton women's lightweights moved to 3-1 on the season with its first win on the East Coast, a 9-second victory over Bucknell Saturday at Lake Carnegie. Princeton also got a near-four second win from its fours, and both the Princeton 'B' 8 and 4 boat also put up solid times.
The varsity eight won in 7:15.3, topping the Bucknell time of 7:24.3 The 'B' varsity eight finished third overall in 7:32.2. The 4A boat won its showdown in 7:55.6, topping Bucknell (7:59.4) and the B4 boat (8:07.0).
Princeton will now focus on next weekend's Knecht Cup, which annually features several of the top contenders for both the Eastern Sprints and the national title.
