#2 Women's Lightweight Rowing Retains Team Points Trophy at Women's Sprints, Wins Two Golds

WORCESTER, Mass. – The #2 Princeton University women's lightweight rowing team retained the Team Points Trophy in addition to winning gold medals in the 8+ and 4+ at Women's Sprints at Lake Quinsigamond Sunday.
"Sprints reflected the work this group has put in all year. Every boat raced with heart and determination," said Assistant Coach Katherine McFetridge. "Our undefeated lightweight varsity four raced with remarkable composure and skill. Our varsity eight showed up together in full force from the start. We are proud to bring the Lightweight Team Points Trophy back home to Princeton and look forward to preparing for the IRA championship!"
The 8+ (6:26.783) won its Grand Final and earned gold, its sixth straight and 12th total, finishing ahead of Radcliffe (6:28.389) and Stanford (6:30.221).
The A4+ (7:07.579) also won gold, finishing first in its Grand Final in front of Boston University (7:18.009) and Radcliffe (7:20.465). Princeton's gold medal in the 4+ is the program's 10th in history third in the past four seasons.
The B4+ (7:33.725) won bronze, finishing behind Boston University (7:31.529) and Wisconsin's A boat (7:29.407).
The 2x (7:54.854) also finished fifth.

Princeton will compete at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championships in Sacramento, California, from May 29-31.
