15th-ranked Harvard won all six singles matches in straight sets and took the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 2 on the way to a 7-0 victory over Princeton in a women's tennis match played at the Lenz Tennis Center Saturday afternoon.
Princeton (8-9, 2-3 Ivy) got a victory at No. 3 doubles, where the team of Darcy Robertson and Joanna Roth defeated Harvard's Laura Peterzan and Catriona Matthew by an 8-5 score.
Harvard, which improved to 15-6 overall and 4-0 in Ivy play, lost just five combined games in wins at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles to take the doubles point. The Crimson also got big wins in singles from two nationally-ranked players, 6-1 and 6-1 by No. 72 Melissa Anderson at No. 4 and 6-3, 6-0 by 115th-ranked Elsa O'Riain at No. 2.
Princeton took two sets to tiebreaks in singles. Robertson took the first set to a tiebreak against Eva Wang at No. 1 before falling 6-3 in the second, while Christine Kansky had a tiebreak with Stephanie Schnitter at No. 5 before falling in the second set.
The Tigers play Columbia in their home finale Friday afternoon.
