Princeton dominated at the bottom of the singles lineup, losing just 11 games in four straight-set wins at Nos. 3 through 6, on the way to a 5-2 victory over Columbia in an Ivy League women's tennis match played at the Lenz Tennis Center Friday afternoon.
The Tigers (9-9, 3-3 Ivy) lost the doubles point but quickly clinched the match by winning those four singles matches.
Playing their final home match for the Tigers, seniors Alison Hashmall and Jessica Siebel were each singles winners. Hashmall quickly dispensed of Nina Suda at No. 4 by scores of 6-1 and 6-0, while Siebel outlasted Angela Hendry 6-2 and 7-5 at No. 2.
Christine Kansky clinched the match for Princeton at No. 5 when she closed out Lauren Shearer, 6-1 and 6-2. The Tigers also got dominating singles wins from Ivana King at No. 3 and Joanna Roth at No. 6.
Roth and partner Darcy Robertson also won at No. 2 doubles, defeating Kara Worsley and Marlena Hall by an 8-2 score.
Princeton concludes its season Sunday afternoon at Cornell.
