Princeton's Catha Mullen finished in second place in the final of the 1,500-meter run to lead the Tigers on the final day of the 2006 ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Weaver Stadium Sunday afternoon.
Mullen, who won the qualifying race in the 1,500 on Saturday, barely missed out on repeating that win in Sunday's final. She finished less than half-a-second behind St. Francis (PA) runner Whitney Schnarr in a time of 4:25.08.
Cack Ferrell also ran in the 1,500 final for Princeton, finishing seventh in 4:29.03.
Princeton finished in 11th place in the team competition with 25 points. Pittsburgh won the team event with an impressive score of 87 points.
Another distance runner, freshman Jolee van Leuven, had an excellent performance for Princeton on Sunday. van Leuven finished fifth in the 3,000-meter race in a time of 9:37.14.
In the field events, Jessica Kloss was a fifth-place finisher for the Tigers in the pole vault, clearing 11 feet, 11 3/4 inches (3.65 meters). Molly Jones participated in the triple jump and finished 19th with a jump of 38 feet, 5 1/2 inches.
Princeton's 4X800 relay team of Liz Bergold, Heather Iatauro, Alexe Smith and Lindsay Cole improved on their prelim time by six seconds on Sunday, finishing in sixth place in the final of that event in a time of 9:03.41.
