PRINCETON, N.J. - Princeton's incoming women's soccer freshmen are the top class in the Ivy League, according to SoccerBuzz.com. The Web site also ranked the new Tigers as the No. 43 class nationally of the 310 schools that will sponsor women's soccer this fall. Two of those players, Vicki Anagnostopoulos and Marci Pasenello, are among the organization's top 150 recruits.
"For the nine years we have done recruiting rankings, Princeton's class has been nationally ranked and this year's set marks the fourth time in the last five years the Tigers have finished atop the Ivy in recruiting," SoccerBuzz.com wrote explaining its Ivy list.
The site mentioned Anagnostopoulos and Pasenello as state players of the year in their respective home states of Maryland and New York. Anagnostopoulos was a three-time first-team all-state honoree and is a part of the Region I Olympic Development Program pool while Pasenello was a high school All-American. In mentioning all six Princeton recruits, the site noted Lauren Thomas of Texas, goalkeeper Jesse George-Nichol of North Carolina, Melissa Seitz of New Jersey and Caitlin Alev of California.

SoccerBuzz will release its complete list of top-100 recruiting classes in the week ahead. It ordered the Ivy schools' classes as Princeton, Harvard, Penn, Dartmouth, Yale, Cornell, Brown and Columbia, reporting that Princeton's class was the eighth-best in the competitive Mid-Atlantic region.
The Tigers open the 2006 season Sept. 2 at Lourie-Love Field against Boston University.
