PRINCETON - To the victors go the spoils, and there are plenty of postseason spoils for the 2006 Princeton open crew, which left the field to win the national championship last weekend. Four members of the varsity boat earned All-America honors, while head coach Lori Dauphiny claimed the Regional Coach of the Year award.
Seniors Devan Darby, Caroline Lind and Jackie Zider and sophomore Elizabeth Agnew earned First-Team All-America honors for Princeton. The four recipients gave Princeton twice as many honors as any other school (California, Brown and Yale each had two). Those four also earned Regional All-America honors along with senior Kate Bertko.
Darby, the senior captain, also earned a 2006 National Scholar Athlete honor. She was the leader of one of the great crews in Princeton history, which won all 14 regular season races and claimed the Eastern Sprints and national championship races by open water.
