PRINCETON - Head open crew coach Lori Dauphiny was named the 2006 CRCA National Coach of the Year after guiding Princeton to a historic 2006 performance. The Tigers went 14-0 in the regular season and cruised to big wins at both the Eastern Sprints and NCAA championships.
The 2004 and 2005 Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year, Dauphiny led a senior-laden first varsity boat to one of the most impressive seasons in the long tradition of Princeton crew. The team set a program record with 14 wins, and it won by open water in the grand finals of both the Eastern Sprints and NCAA Championship.
Dauphiny, who also worked with the 2004 U.S. Olympic team, will enter the 2007 season with a career record of 100-8 at Princeton. She will return one All-America from this season; coxswain Lizzie Agnew guided the championship crew with precision all season. A trio of All-America seniors, Caroline Lind, Devan Darby and Jackie Zider, graduated last May after several years of guiding the first varsity boat.
