Peter Capkovic Earns Preseason National Ranking in Men's Tennis
September 11, 2006 | Men's Tennis
Princeton sophomore men's tennis player Peter Capkovic has earned a national ranking of No. 102 in the preseason NCAA Division I singles rankings released Monday.
Capkovic will play his first intercollegiate match Sept. 22 at the annual Farnsworth Invitational at the Lenz Tennis Center. He attended Princeton in 2005-06, but NCAA year-in-residence regulations forced him to sit out the tennis season.
The native of Slovakia brings an accomplished tennis background to the Tigers. He has several wins over current ATP professional players, including top 10 player Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic and former Wimbledon semifinalist Vladimir Voltchkov of Belorussia.
In the classroom, Capkovic was also an ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2005-06.
