Princeton To Forfeit Sprint Football Game Against Army
October 02, 2007 | Sprint Football
The Princeton University Department of Athletics has announced that it will not be playing its sprint football game against Army this Friday night due to an insufficient number of healthy players. The game will be considered a forfeit and will not be made up.
The status of the remaining three games, beginning Oct. 12 at Cornell, is still to be determined.
“After consulting with the head coach, the seniors on the team and the medical staff, the athletic administration has made a decision that it wouldn't be prudent to play this weekend,” said Director of Athletics Gary Walters. “We're going to reevaluate the status of the team on a week-by-week basis and hope to be able to play against Cornell.”
Princeton played with an undermanned team in each of its first two games, a 49-26 loss to Cornell and a 60-7 loss to Penn.
