Tigers Strong in Distance Events at New Balance Collegiate Invitational

Princeton once again had strong performances in the distance events as the New Balance Collegiate Invitational concluded Saturday afternoon at the 168th Street Armory in New York City.
In the championship mile race, a pair of Princeton freshmen finished in the top 10 of the final standings. Christy Johnson was the sixth-best finisher in a time of 4:52.92, while classmate Liz Costello was ninth in a time of 4:55.08.
In the 3,000 championship race soon after, senior Catha Mullen finished eighth in a strong field in a time of 9:30.75.
Freshman Alexa Glencer ran in the collegiate division of the mile on Saturday, finishing seventh in a time of 5:02.98.
Princeton's 4X400 relay group was seventh in the collegiate division of that event. Pole vaulter Jess Kloss cleared 11 feet, 9 3/4 inches to place 10th in that event.
