Women's Golf Takes 10th in Strong Field at Texas A&M

BRYAN, Texas -- The Princeton women's golf team placed 10th in a strong field of 16 teams at the Texas A&M Invitational, held at Traditions Golf Club in Bryan, Texas, this weekend.
The Tigers were +94 as a team. Arizona State won the event at +29, ahead of USC (+40), UCLA (+53), Oklahoma State (+53), Denver (+58), Texas A&M (+62), South Carolina (+89), Missouri (+89) and Oklahoma (+89), with Princeton behind that group. Princeton finished ahead of Texas (+96), Kansas State (+102), UTEP (+103), Iowa State (+104), Tulsa (+114) and Redlands (+137).
The top overall individual score belonged to Paola Moreno of USC, who finished at even par on the 72-stroke course. The top Tiger was sophomore Susannah Aboff at +25 (80-77-84-241, T43rd), followed by freshman Michelle Grilli (82-79-82-243, T51st) at +27, senior Sharla Cloutier at +27 (76-89-78-243, T51st), junior Annika Welander (80-87-78-245, T55th) at +29 and sophomore Marlowe Boukis at +30 (87-80-79-246, 58th).
Only two players overall carded rounds below par, with Moreno's Saturday score of 70 as the low round and the final-round 71 turned in by Arizona State's Jennifer Osborn at 1-under.
The Tigers will return to the links next week at the USF Invitational in Tampa, Fla., Mar. 19-20.
