Tigers Win at San Diego in Women's Tennis, 6-1

After winning a tight doubles point in a tiebreak at No. 3, No. 60 Princeton then won three singles matches in straight sets on the way to a 6-1 win over San Diego in a women's tennis match played at the USD West courts Sunday morning.
Senior Laura Trimble and sophomore Kristen Scott were the heroes in doubles for the Tigers (7-3), defeating Justine Perl and Alex Demidova 9-8 after a split of the other two matches. Princeton then clinched the match with straight-set wins by Melissa Saiontz, Sarah Huah and Darcy Robertson in singles.
Saiontz, ranked No. 78 nationally, lost just three games in her win over Monica Wiesener at No. 1. Robertson defeated Helene Lindstrand 6-4 and 6-1 at No. 3, while Huah lost just four games in a win over Zoe Taylor at No. 4.
Princeton also won two matches in third-set prosets after the team match was clinched. Ivana King won a 10-5 proset at No. 2, while Joanna Roth won a 10-8 proset over Perl at No. 6.
The Tigers next play on Wednesday, when they face 26th-ranked Pepperdine in Malibu.
