Princeton Women's Golf in Second Place at 14-Team South Florida Invite

BRADENTON, Fla. -- The Princeton women's golf team stands in second place at the 14-team University of South Florida Invitational with one round to play. Individually, sophomore Susannah Aboff is in third place.
Schools from across the east competed for two rounds Monday at the Waterlefe Golf and River Club in Bradenton, Fla., just south of Tampa, and Maryland has the 36-hole lead at +40, just seven shots ahead of Princeton. The Tigers are one shot ahead of Coastal Carolina (+48) while East Carolina (+53), South Florida (+54), Daytona Beach Community College (+67), the University of Miami (+67), Florida International (+69), Cincinnati (+80), Southern Mississippi (+80), Mercer (+88), James Madison (+89), Georgetown (+91) and St. John's (+93) round out the field.
Aboff fired a 72 and 77 to stand at +5, while individual leader Araceli Felgueroso of Coastal Carolina holds the lead at even par. Felgueroso fired the low round of 71, the only below-par round of the tournament as yet. Lene Krog of East Carolina is in second place at +1.
Among Princeton's contingent, senior Sharla Cloutier (79-75-154) is tied for eighth at +10, freshman Michelle Grilli (79-78-157) is tied for 13th at +13, junior Annika Welander (85-78-163) is tied for 32nd at +19 and sophomore Marlowe Boukis (86-81-167) is tied for 48th at +23. Competing individually for the Tigers are seniors Alexis Etow (84-79-163, +19) and Caitlin Sullivan (82-88-170, +26).
The tournament will conclude with 18 holes Tuesday.
