Princeton Softball's Slate at UNC Adjusted for Rain
March 02, 2007 | Softball
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The start to the 2007 Princeton softball season will have to wait a little bit -- 2 1/4 hours, to be exact.
Overnight rain left the upper field at the University of North Carolina soggy, so the schedule had to be shortened to play most of the games on the stadium field. Princeton will still play all three of its fellow Pool B teams, but there will be only one crossover game, to be played Sunday.
According to weather.com, no more rain is on tap for the weekend, so the revised schedule should remain intact.
Princeton and Liberty will play at 12:15 p.m. today while the Tigers will face Marshall at 10 a.m. Saturday with Rhode Island following at approximately 12:15 p.m.
Sunday, Princeton will meet the corresponding Group A team of the place it finishes in the pool standings. The third-place and fourth-place teams will each meet between the two fields at 10 a.m. Sunday, while the pool runners-up will meet at 12:30 p.m. and the pool winners will play in the Tar Heel Invitational championship game at 2:30.
