Close Finish for Women's Golf at Cincinnati Spring Invite

CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. -- Florida Atlantic surged into first place and finished just two shots ahead of the Princeton women's golf team at the 36-hole Cincinnati Spring Invite at the Plantation Inn Golf Course in Crystal River, Fla.
FAU cut just two shots off its first-round score, but Princeton added two and Middle Tennessee State, which was ahead of Princeton by a single shot after one round, added eight shots to finish third.
The Tigers had three players finish no lower than a tie for ninth, but Florida Atlantic had two of the top three. Praewnapa Phol-Uayporn was the individual champ at +2, while Seul Ki Park of Illinois was second at +5 and FAU's June Bolme was third at +6.
Among Tigers, senior Sharla Cloutier placed fourth overall at +9 with a 75-78-153. Freshman Michelle Grilli tied for fifth at +10 (78-76-154), while senior Alexis Etow tied for ninth (77-80-157, +13), junior Annika Welander tied for 14th (80-78-158, +14) and sophomore Marlowe Boukis tied for 20th (80-81-161, +17). Caitlin Sullivan competed individually and tied for fifth (77-77-154, +10).
In the team standings, behind FAU, Princeton and Middle Tennessee were Cincinnati, Illinois, Yale, Alabama-Birmingham, Siena and Rutgers.
The Tigers will participate in the Hoya Invitational, hosted by Georgetown April 1-2 in Leesburg, Va.
