Tigers Top Temple, 5-2, in Final Non-Conference Match

Junior Ivana King was a winner in both in singles and doubles to lead the 72nd-ranked Princeton women's tennis team to a 5-2 victory over Temple in a non-conference match played at Jadwin Gym Thursday night.
King dominated her singles match against Dina Senkina at No. 2, winning by scores of 6-3 and 6-0. Earlier, at No. 1 doubles, King joined freshman Sarah Huah to defeated Temple's Yuri Kurashima and Christine Clermont by an 8-3 score.
Princeton (8-5) clinched the team match when Blakely Ashley finished a 6-4, 6-4 win over Temple's Anastasiia Rukavyshykova at No. 4 singles.
The Tigers clinched the doubles point when Laura Trimble and Kristen Scott won at No. 3.
Princeton also got singles wins from Kelly Stewart at No. 6, in straight sets, and Melissa Saiontz at No. 1. Saiontz defeated Kurashima 6-2 in the third set for the victory.
The Tigers open Ivy League play Saturday with a noon match at 57th-ranked Penn.
