PRINCETON, N.J. -- Both Princeton golf teams will be in action this weekend in the Washington, D.C., area, getting in some final rounds before the Ivy League Championship on April 21 and 22.
The Tiger women will be playing at the Hoya Invitational Sunday and Monday at Raspberry Falls Golf Club in Leesburg, Va., in what could be a gauge of the Ivy League tournament.
Among the 14 teams are five Ivy schools, with Yale, Columbia, Brown and Penn joining Princeton. Rutgers, Lehigh, Nova Southeastern, Siena, Cleveland State, St. John's, Georgetown, Sacred Heart and Boston College will also play in the tournament. It is a 36-hole event on the par-72 course, and will be played from near the blue tees, which measure 6,296 yards.
The Princeton men will be to the east of the nation's capital for the Lacrosse Homes Collegiate, hosted by Towson in Grasonville, Md., on the state's eastern shore. It is the last road tournament for the Tigers before the Ivy League tournament as Princeton will host an invitational April 14-15.
The 36-hole, Saturday-Sunday tournament will feature 15 teams, including Army, Binghamton, Columbia, Cornell, Drexel, Georgetown, James Madison, Liberty, Long Island, Longwood, Loyola (Md.), Navy, Richmond, Rutgers, St. Bonaventure, St. John's, St. Joseph's, William and Mary and Yale joining the Tigers. The Prospect Bay Country Club course is a par-72, measuring 6,731 yards from the blue tees.
