Kotchasanmanee Two Shots Off The Lead After Two Days At NCAAs

Thanana Kotchasanmanee put together a second round of under-par golf at the 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship, posting a 71 (-1) to sit in a tie for seventh place after two days of play at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
Starting on the 10th hole, Kotchasanmanee worked pars on her first five holes before back-to-back birdies on the par-4 15th and par-3 16th briefly got her to -5 for the tournament. She would give those two shots back with a double bogey on the 18th hole -- her first bogey of any kind 27 holes into the national championship -- to make the turn at even for the day.
Kotchasanmanee then navigated her way to par on each of the next seven holes before carding a birdie on the par-3 eighth hole to get back under par for the day. A par on 9 closed her round at -4 overall.
Kotchasanmanee sits alongside four other players at -4 and is two shots behind three players tied for the lead at -6 in Farah O'Keefe (Texas), Kajslotta Svarvar (Ole Miss), and Meja Örtengren (Stanford). Three more players, Megha Ganne (Stanford), Beth Coulter (Arizona State) and Kirstin Angosta (TCU) are T4 at -5 overall.
Sunday's final round will determine the Top-15 teams who qualify through to Monday's final round of stroke play and the nine other individual players who move on. All of those players will compete for the NCAA Individual Championship on May 25.
