Throwers Lead Tigers at Mason Spring Classic

Emma Harper was a scorer for Princeton in both the hammer throw and shot put to lead the Tiger women's track contingent at the Mason Spring Classic Saturday afternoon in Virginia.
Harper was fifth in the hammer with a toss of 45.84 meters (more than 150 feet) and eighth in the shot put (12.15 meters, 39 feet, 10 inches). She scored five of Princeton's 28 points on the day in a meet that featured athletes from 14 schools on the women's side.
Freshman Brittney Johnson also had a strong performance in the javelin for Princeton, finishing fifth in that competition with a throw of 35.62 meters (nearly 117 feet). Emma Giunipero was eight in the discus with a toss of more than 39 meters.
On the track, standout sprinter Agatha Offorjebe was the fourth-fastest finisher in the 200 meters, completing that race in 24.98 seconds. The Tigers' 4X100-meter relay squad was also fourth in that race in a time fo 49.10 seconds.
Mawusi Arnett also scored for the Tigers in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing eighth in a time of 1:05.38.
The Princeton men's and women's track teams will host the Sam Howell Invitational this Friday and Saturday at Weaver Track & Field Stadium.
