Princeton Has Three Event Winners At TCNJ Lions Invitational

Karen Aherne was the winner in the 800 meters and Courtney Regan and Emma Giunipero won the pole vault and discus respectively to lead the Princeton women's track team at the 2007 Lions Invitational at the College of New Jersey Saturday.
Aherne's winning time for the two laps was 2:15.77, more than a second-and-a-half better than the second-place time. Ryan was the first of two competitors to clear 11 feet, 5 3/4 inches to win the pole vault, while Giunipero's winning discus throw was 139 feet, three inches.
Freshman Liz Stevens competed in two field events and finished third in both competitions. She tied for third place in the high jump with a leap of 5-1 1/4 and was also third in the long jump with a mark of 17 feet, seven inches.
Princeton also had a third-place finisher in the 1,500, where freshman Alexa Glencer finished in a time of 4:53.97.
Caroline Brody was fourth in the 200 meters in a time of 26.41 and sixth in the quarter-mile in a time of 58.44, a place behind Karen Okigbo's fifth-place time of 58.23 in the 400 meters.
