Magnowski Named ECAC Hockey Player of the Week

Princeton sophomore forward Mark Magnowski was named ECAC Hockey Player of the Week on Wednesday following a three-point performance on Sunday at Nebraska-Omaha. Magnowski had the game-winning goal, plus two assists in the win.
Trailing 2-1 entering the third period, Princeton scored four goals in the final frame for the 5-3 victory. After knotting the game at 2-2, Magnowski won an offensive zone faceoff on the power play back to freshman Taylor Fedun, who scored on a point shot to give Princeton its first lead of the night. UNO quickly evened the game, but Magnowski countered with a shorthanded goal following another faceoff win with less than five minutes on the clock. He then assisted on senior Mike Moore's empty netter in the final minute to ice the win.
Magnowski's three points lifted his season total to five this season and all three goals he has scored have been game-winning goals, coming against Colgate, Union and UNO. Magnowski won 66.7% of the faceoffs he took last weekend and finished the weekend +1.
Magnowski and the Tigers return to action this Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. against Dartmouth in a game televised live on ESPNU.
