Princeton Fencing to Compete in Multi-Team Meet at Drew Sunday
January 25, 2008 | Men's Fencing, Women's Fencing
PRINCETON -- Princeton's fencing teams will head to Madison, N.J. for a day full of dual meets at Drew University Sunday.
The Tiger men will face club or varsity teams from Drew, Cornell, Lafayette, Army, Haverford and Rutgers, while the women will face drew and possibly Cornell. Any matches against the Big Red, which sponsors only women's fencing as a varsity sport, would not count toward the Ivy standings as the league race will be settled between two dates, Feb. 3 and Feb. 10, at Brown and in Jadwin Gym, respectively.
The bouts will also help Princeton's individual fencers toward qualifying for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional, which will be held in March ahead of the national meet at Ohio State.
The Tigers have been away from competition as a team since Dec. 1 when they hosted a multi-team dual meet in the Jadwin Fencing Room.
