October 23, 2008 | Women's Tennis
PRINCETON -- Four Princeton women's tennis players will head to Philadelphia to compete in the ITA East Regional this Friday through Tuesday at Penn.
The tournament will begin Friday with singles and doubles qualifying play. Saturday will begin main-draw singles and doubles action, continuing through Tuesday when winners will be crowned.
Rachel Saiontz and Lauren McHale will team up in the qualifying doubles draw, starting Friday against a pair from Marshall. Sixteen teams in that bracket will play for four spots in the main draw, where Princeton's Hilary Bartlett and Taylor Marable are part of a 64-team bracket.
No Tigers are in the qualifying singles bracket, but all four of the doubles players are already in the singles main draw. Including the eight advancers from the qualifying singles draw, the main draw includes 116 players.
