Men's Tennis to Begin Columbia Invite Friday

PRINCETON -- Five Princeton men's tennis players will compete in the Columbia Invitational beginning Friday.
Alex Vuckovic, George Carpeni, Parker Preyer, Ravi Yegya-Raman and Yohei Shoji will take on competition from 11 other schools in the three-day individual event, which features three singles flights and two doubles flights.
Vuckovic will open with Jon Fife of Cornell in the "A" singles main draw, while Carpeni will start with Will Guzick from Harvard in the 16-person bracket. The middle two rounds will be played Saturday with the final Sunday.
Operating under the same schedules are the "B" and "C" singles draws. Preyer will open with Adam Srkala of Texas-Arlington in the "B" draw, while Shoji will have a preliminary-round match in the "C" draw against Corey Forrest of Monmouth. Yegya-Raman will start in the "C" bracket first round against the winner of Binghamton's Evan Algier and Harvard's Tim Wu.
The 11 teams joining Princeton at the event are Binghamton, host Columbia, Cornell, Harvard, Fairleigh Dickinson, Marist, Monmouth, Penn, Sacred Heart, St. John's and Texas-Arlington.
