Taylor Numann Earns Ivy's Final Weekly Honor
November 10, 2008 | Women's Soccer
PRINCETON -- For her two goals that led Princeton to an overtime defeat of Penn and a share of its sixth Ivy League title, Taylor Numann was chosen as the Ivy League Player of the Week for women's soccer.
Numann's goals, a header off a free kick in the first half and another header off a corner kick midway through the second overtime Saturday, allowed Princeton to take a 2-1 win and finish 5-1-1 in the Ivy League, 12-2-2 overall.
The two-time All-Ivy defender's goals were her second and third of her career and first since Oct. 14, 2006. Numann is the third Tiger to be named Ivy League Player of the Week after Sarah Peteraf shared the honor Oct. 6 and Alissa Boddie won both the player and rookie honors Nov. 3.
Princeton will find out at 8 p.m. tonight if and where it will play for the NCAA tournament, which would be its ninth postseason bid.
