Four Tigers Named All-Ivy League in Men's Soccer

PRINCETON, N.J. (11/19/08) ? Four members of the Princeton men's soccer team have been named all-league the Ivy League office announced on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
Senior defender Matt Care was named to the first team, while junior Devin Muntz, sophomore Ben Burton and freshman Antoine Hoppenot were selected to the second team. Hoppenot is one of just two freshmen to make his way onto the all-league teams. The other selection is Lucky Mkosana from Dartmouth, who was named the Rookie of the Year. Teammate and fellow midfielder Craig Henderson was named Player of the Year. Both were unanimous picks.
Care started all 17 games for the Tigers at center back, while Burton made 12 starts on the backfield. They helped hold teams to a 1.19 goals against average and held opponents to just 39.2 percent in shots on goal.
Muntz, the team captain, started all 17 games at center midfield. He had a team-best five assists and one goal for seven points. Hoppenot played in 17 games and had 16 starting assignments. He finished second on the team in scoring with three goals and two assists for eight points. He led the team in shots with 45 and 18 shots on goal.
Princeton finished the season with a 5-9-3 overall record and a 2-2-3 mark in the Ivy League.
