No. 8 Duke Defeats 72nd-Ranked Tigers, 6-1

Princeton got a singles win from freshman Taylor Marable but fell to eighth-ranked Duke by a 6-1 score in a women's tennis match played at the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center Friday evening.
Marable split sets with Duke's Melissa Mang at No. 4 singles, winning the first set 6-3, before winning a 10-point tiebreak by a 10-7 score to win the match.
At No. 1 singles, Princeton sophomore Melissa Saiontz gave the No. 16 player in the nation, Ellah Nze, all she could handle before falling in three sets. Saiontz won the second set 6-3 to send the match to a third and deciding set.
Duke's top three singles players are all ranked 38th or better nationally. At No. 2 singles, Princeton's Ivana King played a tight second set with Elizabeth Plotkin before falling by scores of 6-3 and 7-5.
All three doubles matches were Duke wins by 8-4 scores.
The Tigers face another top 10 team, second-ranked Northwestern, Saturday in a neutral-site match in Durham. The Wildcat lineup features four nationally-ranked singles players.
