This Week's Storylines In the Polls Team Notes Individual Notes 30-Sychterz-Junior Season
Back at Baker
The Princeton men's hockey team returns to Baker Rink this weekend to host Brown and Yale for a pair of ECAC Hockey and Ivy League contests. Princeton swept the pair earlier this season on the road in mid-January.
Last Time Out
Princeton saw its six-game winning streak snapped on Friday at Union in a 4-3 loss, but rebounded the following night with a 4-0 shutout win at Rensselaer. The results moved Princeton to 12-9 overall and 9-5 in ECAC Hockey.
The Union Game
Princeton fell behind 3-0 in the first 8:13 of the game at Union. The Dutchmen made the score 4-0 midway through the second. Princeton made a late charge, scoring three times in the final 10 minutes with the goaltender pulled, but were unable to draw even. Junior Brett Wilson and freshman Mike Kramer each had a goal and an assist in the loss.
The Rensselaer Game
Princeton bounced back with a dominating effort on Saturday night, blanking RPI 4-0. Following a scoreless first period, Princeton scored three times in the first 11 minutes of the second period to pull off the win. Sophomore Dan Bartlett had a goal and assist, while classmate Zane Kalemba made 16 saves for his second shutout of the season.
Six in a Row
Princeton's six-game win streak that ended at Union was its longest winning streak in more than 70 years since the 1933-34 season when Princeton won six straight games from Mid-February to mid-March of 1934. Princeton has had several unbeaten streaks of six or more games since then, most recently coming late in the 1998-99 season when Princeton had a 5-0-1 stretch.
Wild Finish
Princeton scored three goals at Union with its goaltender pulled in the final 7:02 of regulation. The extra-attacker goals were the first for the Tigers in nearly a year as Max Cousins last scored in that situation on Feb. 3, 2007 in a loss at Yale.
Shutout
Princeton's 4-0 shutout at Rensselaer was Princeton's second shutout of the season. The first was a 2-0 win at Colgate early in the season. The shutout was Princeton first against RPI since the 1996-97 when Princeton won 6-0 in Troy.
Third Period Rallies
Princeton has come from behind in the third period three times in its last eight and nearly did it at Union. Princeton rallied from a 2-1 deficit at Nebraska-Omaha, a 1-0 deficit at home against Harvard and a 2-1 deficit at Yale. Princeton won just once last season when trailing after two periods.
Princeton remained in the National Polls for the fourth-straight week. Princeton is currently ranked 19th in the USCHO.com poll and is the second team receiving votes in the USA Today Poll. Princeton jumped to 14th in the InsideCollegeHockey.com rankings.
All Lines Clicking
Princeton had kept its lines nearly in tact for the past seven games and all four lines have contributed goals in the span. Three lines were responsible for goals during the Union/Rensselaer game.
Scoring More
Princeton has scored four or more goals in six of its last seven games and five or more in four of the games. Princeton has doubled its opponents 34-17 during its last eight games.
Leading Offense
Princeton's offense leads the ECAC Hockey in scoring in league games with 47 goals scored in 14 games for an average of 3.36. Princeton also leads in overall goals per game with 3.14.
Great Away From Home

Tied for Third
Princeton's weekend split leaves the Tigers in a tie for third-place in the ECAC Hockey standings with 18 points. The Tigers are 9-5 in league play and are even with Quinnipiac in the standings, a point behind second-place Cornell and a point ahead of fourth-place Union.
Atop the Ivies
Four of Princeton's six wins in its recent streak came against Ivy League opponents. Princeton is 5-0 in Ivy play this season as Princeton has defeated each Ivy team once. The Tigers managed just three Ivy League wins in each of the last two seasons. Princeton has a one-point lead over second-place Cornell with two games in hand.
Non Conference Wrap
Princeton's win at Robert Morris was its final non-league game of the 2007-08 season. Princeton finished the year 3-4 in those games with wins at Yale, Nebraska-Omaha and Robert Morris, and losses to Quinnipiac, Minnesota State and Notre Dame (2).
