No. 2 Women's Squash Sweeps Dartmouth 9-0
February 09, 2008 | Women's Squash
Sophomore Neha Kumar continued her return from injury with a 3-1 win at No. 2 to help lead the Princeton women's squash team to a 9-0 victory over Dartmouth Saturday afternoon. The Tigers will face Harvard Sunday afternoon in a rematch of the 2007 Howe Cup final.
"The team played well today," head coach Gail Ramsay said. "They looked very focused. I thought Neha really started to get her timing back. She looked good in the second and third games."
Kumar, the 2007 Constable Cup champion and a national individual semifinalist last year, was injured during the winter break. After a tough opening game against Christie Alexander, which Kumar lost 9-6, the Princeton sophomore roared back with wins of 9-1 and 9-2. Alexander was forced to default the fourth game due to injury.
Princeton No. 1 and 2008 Constable champion Amanda Siebert was impressive in a 9-4, 9-5, 9-1 win. The No. 7 match had a distinctively Princeton feel, as locals Carly Grabowski (Princeton) and Taylor Tully (Dartmouth) competed, with Grabowski picking up a 9-1, 9-4, 9-0 win.
