August 01, 2008 | Men's Tennis
PRINCETON ? Men's tennis coach Glenn Michibata has announced the addition of two incoming freshmen for 2008-09 as Coleman Crutchfield and Ravi Yegya-Raman will be joining the team in the fall.
"Ravi and Coleman make up the 10th ranked recruiting class in the nation and the top rated Ivy League recruiting class,” Michibata said. “Besides what they will bring to the team on the courts, we were interested in Ravi and Coleman for their character and their contributions to the chemistry of the team."
Crutchfield, from New York City, attended Riverdale Country School and was a New York Daily News Mayor's Cup All-Star Team member in 2006 and 2007. Crutchfield earned all-league honors his last three years and was team MVP his final two, playing as Riverdale's No. 1 all four years.
A two-time Star-Ledger state player of the year, Yegya-Raman comes to Princeton from Cherry Hill East in Cherry Hill, N.J. Yegya-Raman had a 100-4 record at first singles in his high school career, serving as the team captain his last three seasons. East High was a top-ranked team in southern New Jersey in 2007 and 2008, winning the Courier Post cup in Yegya-Raman's last two years.
