PRINCETON -- Several Princeton players learned of their Intercollegiate Tennis
Association national rankings this week, and the team was slotted 61st

Princeton's women's team ranking, of 325 Division I teams, is the highest of any school in the Ivy League and is six spots higher than where the Tigers ended the 2008 spring season. The ITA ranks the top 75 squads.
Individually, Princeton placed three women in the regional top 25, including freshman Lauren McHale at No. 5, junior Melissa Saiontz at No. 18 and freshman Hilary Bartlett at No. 25. Nationally, McHale is ranked at No. 74.
Among doubles teams regionally, Bartlett and Taylor Marable are ranked No. 4, while Melissa Saiontz and McHale are No. 15. Nationally, Barlett and Marable are No. 27, while Saiontz and McHale are 29th.
On the men's side, senior Peter Capkovic was chosen as the No. 6 player in the region, while junior George Carpeni was tabbed 21st.
The women's team will begin its 2009 spring season Jan. 28 with a pair of matches against Temple and Rutgers in Jadwin Gym, while the men's team will start a day earlier as part of a three-match trip to Virginia.
