Baylor Duo Tops Marable and Bartlett in ITA Main Draw First Round

LOS ANGELES -- After advancing through the qualifying draw, the Princeton doubles team of Taylor Marable and Hilary Bartlett fell in the first round of the ITA main doubles draw Thursday morning in Los Angeles.
The Baylor duo of Csilla Borsanyi and Lenka Broosova defeated Marable and Bartlett 8-3 in the first of four main draw rounds, moving the Princeton pair to the consolation bracket where they'll face Andrea Remynse and Yasmin Schnack of UCLA Friday at 9 a.m at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
Among the wins Marable and Bartlett picked up on the way through the qualifying draw were a victory over a pair of All-Americas from Duke in Ellah Nze and Reka Zsilinszka as well as one over the ITA preseason No. 9 in Karen Nijssen and Kristi Boxx of Mississippi. Marable and Bartlett were ranked No. 21 in the preseason ITA chart.
Looking ahead to the Friday opponent, UCLA's Remynse and Schnack were ranked No. 4 on the ITA preseason list. The consolation draw will consist of three rounds.
