PRINCETON, N.J. (11/10/09) - The Princeton men's soccer team hosts Yale in the regular season finale on Friday, Nov. 13 at Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium. The game will be televised live on national TV on the Fox Soccer Channel at 8:07 p.m.
Giveaways include Princeton soccer t-shirts, pom poms and Fox Soccer Channel luggage tags. Half-time promotion prizes include an autographed shirt from the US Men's National Team, a Princeton game jersey and a Nike soccer ball.
Yale holds a 42-34-22 record in the all-time series that began in 1910. The Bulldogs are unbeaten in the series in the last six games including a 2-2 tie last season. Princeton's last win over Yale came during the 2002 season.
Princeton is undefeated in its last six games, going 4-0-2, to improve its overall record to 8-5-3. The Tigers are fourth in the Ivy League standings with a 3-2-1 record, just three points out of first place. Junior Josh Walburn has tallied six goals and a team-best five assists to lead the team with 17 points. Sophomore Antoine Hoppenot has team-high seven goals and two helpers for 16 points. Freshman Matt Sanner has 11 points off of four goals and three assists. Junior Sean Lynch has started all 16 games and has three shutouts, a 1.18 goals against average and a .726 save percentage, making 53 stops on 73 shots.
The Bulldogs are 5-8-3 overall and 2-4 in the Ivy League to sit in a sixth-place tie in the standings, along with Columbia. The team has played six overtime games this season, losing three and tying in remaining three. Junior Brad Rose and freshman Scott Armbrust have both scored six goals apiece, with Rose adding four assists for 16 points and Armburst one for 13 points. Midfielders Andy Shorten and Jon Carlos have seven and six points, respectively. Senior goalkeeper Travis Chulick has started in all but one game and has a 4-6-3 record with one shutout. He has a 1.41 goals against average and a .714 save percentage, making 55 saves on 77 shots.
