November 30, 2009 | Men's Fencing, Women's Fencing
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- In the first day of dual matches for the Princeton fencing teams Sunday, the Tigers posted a 9-3 record against six opponents at Harvard.
Both Princeton teams swept North Carolina, Sacred Heart, Vassar and NYU. The teams split with Harvard, with the men getting a win, and both Tiger teams lost to Penn State, the 2009 national champion, though only by scores of 14-13 for the men and 16-11 for the women.
Below are results by weapon and individual for each contest. Joanna Cichomski and Eliza Stone, both freshmen, co-led the Princeton women with records of 15-3 each, while Edward Kelley, also a freshman, led all Princeton men in wins with a 12-3 record.
