Soccer Teams Earn NSCAA Team Academic Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. (12/1/09) - The Princeton men's and women's soccer teams have been recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) with Team Academic Awards for its outstanding achievement in the classroom.
Princeton is one of 97 schools that had both programs recognized by the NSCAA for having team grade point averages of 3.0 of higher during the 2008-09 academic year.
The women's program posted a 3.08 GPA during the 2008-09 academic year. The squad finished the 2008 season with its sixth Ivy League title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers closed out the season with a 12-3-2 record and had six players named All-Ivy League.
The men's program had a cumulative GPA of 3.03 during the 2008-09 academic year. The Tigers had four players earn All-Ivy League honors as the squad posted a record of 5-9-3. Seven of the teams' losses were by just one goal. Princeton played three nationally-ranked teams and recorded four shutouts during the 2008 season.
