Three Tigers Named NSCAA All-Region

PRINCETON, N.J. (12/14/09) - Three members of the Princeton men's soccer team have been named to the 2009 NSCAA All-Region Teams it was announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Senior Devin Muntz and junior Josh Walburn were named first-team All-Northeast Region, and sophomore Antoine Hoppenot earned second-team honors. These are the first all-region honors for these three players. The last time Princeton had more than two players earn all-region honors was in 2001 when the team picked up four.
The trio helped Princeton to a 9-5-3 overall record and a 4-2-1 mark in the Ivy League. The team began the season on a 4-0 run and closed out the regular season 5-0-2. The Tigers earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, their first post season bid since 2001 and eighth bid in program history.
A two-year captain, Muntz was named first-team All-Ivy this season and was named to the all-league teams each year during his career. He scored one goal and added two assists this season and started in all 18 games this season.
A 2009 ECAC All-Star and first-team All-Ivy League selection, Walburn finished the season with six goals and team-high five assists for 17 points. Three of his six goals were game-winning goals. He started in all 18 games this season at either the midfield or defensive position.
The team's leading scorer, Hoppenot finished the season with 22 points on a team-best 10 goals and two assists. He was named to three national teams of the week during the season and was named first-team All-Ivy. His 10 goals are the most goals scored by a Tiger since 2004.
