Kalemba and Meland Earn ECAC Weekly Honors
December 14, 2009 | Men's Ice Hockey
Meland got things started for Princeton with his first collegiate goal four minutes into the contest and tallied his second goal just 10 seconds later in giving his team an early 2-0 lead. Meland becomes Princeton's first Rookie of the Week winner since Mike Kramer in January of 2008.
Kalemba made double-digit saves in each period, including a game-high 19 saves in the third period, totaling a career-high 45 saves for the game. The honor was his fifth ECAC Goalie of the Week honor. He claimed two weekly awards as a sophomore and three as a junior last season.
Meland, Kalemba and the rest of the Tigers are now off for three weeks before returning to action on Dec. 29 against Maine at the Florida College Classic.
