Women's Tennis Begins Spring Trip with 7-0 Sweep at Middle Tennessee State

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- All seven Tigers helped the Princeton women's tennis team run its win streak to six matches with a 7-0 spring break-opening win at Middle Tennessee State (6-8) Tuesday afternoon.
Lauren McHale, Hilary Bartlett, Rachel Saiontz, Melissa Saiontz and Taylor Marable were all winners in both singles and doubles while Blakely Ashley picked up a win at sixth singles and Sarah Hoffman contributed to a win with Melissa Saiontz at third doubles. None of the six singles matches went to a third set, and only the second doubles match that McHale and Rachel Saiontz won went to a tiebreaker.
Princeton (11-4) also learned Tuesday that its ITA ranking leapt 17 spots to 39th from the last time it played a match Mar. 1. Its next opponent, Vanderbilt, is also highly ranked at 29th. The Tigers have defeated their last two higher-ranked opponents and will meet the Commodores at 3 p.m. Central Time Wednesday.
